Kate Upton Embraces Her Curvy Body in Vogue: "I Can’t Change My Bra Size"
Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, the 21-year-old model-actress, who was also named the 2013 Model of the Year, channels her inner Marilyn for the shoot. The hair, the bod, the red lips — everything just screams old Hollywood glamour!
But it turns out the inspiration behind the shoot is from the original cover of Dress & Vanity Fair’s very first issue released on Oct. 1, 1913.
Kate tells contributing editor Jim Windolf that getting to where she is now wasn’t exactly easy.
“I’m not going to name names, but one agency told me, ‘You’re too American, and everybody knows American women are lazy.’ I was so offended! I’ve never been so offended! I was like, ‘You know that you’re in America, right?’ and it wasn’t ‘American models'—it was ‘American women are lazy, period! I feel like a lot of women would disagree with that. A lot!”
Why Kate Upton's First Sports Illustrated Cover Made Her Feel Terrible About Herself
But two Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues and a few movies later; the blond bombshell is certainly making that agency regret their decision.
"People deal with models like they are children. They think they can pull one over on you. It's actually funny," she told Elle’s September mag. "I'm always like, I'm about to pull something on you, and you're so focused on thinking I'm dumb you're not even going to know."
