It was the much-anticipated debut preview of Katie Holmes in Dead Accounts on Broadway tonight — and the former Dawson's Creek star didn't disappoint!
"She and co-star Norbert Leo Butz got a few good laughs," an audience member tells Life & Style. "You could absolutely tell that she was enjoying herself."
Though opening night is set for Nov. 29, the show started previews today at the Music Box Theatre in NYC."What audiences are going to get is something different every night. And it's no wonder the actress did a superb job — this is her second time performing on Broadway. Katie made her debut on the Great White Way in 2008's All My Sons.Dead Accounts, which will show for 16 weeks, is a new comedy written by Smash creator Theresa Rebeck. It's about a brother and sister with a secret $27 million. Katie plays Lorna, the sister.

"I'm really excited to be working with Theresa," Katie's said. "I think her writing is wonderful because the characters are real and going through things that we as the audience really recognize."
