Katy Perry has finally gotten rid of the house she shared with Russell Brand - and it cost her nearly a million bucks to do it!
The "Roar" singer sold the LA mansion for $5.6 million, even though she originally paid $6.5 million for the property. That means she lost $900,000 just to get rid of the house she lived in with her British-born ex.

Still, for the 29-year-old, it's worth it. Katy has been trying to exorcize herself of the demons of her former relationship, especially since she's moved on to a romance with singer-songwriter John Mayer.
"At first when I met him he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they’re like, I can’t handle the equalness," Katy told Vogue about Russell. "He didn’t like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour. So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting." She then revealed that the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star told her he wanted a divorce - via text message.

It looks like getting rid of her former home will help Katy shed some of those painful memories so that she can focus on moving forward. The "California Girls" singer admitted that she was "madly in love" with John, who she collaborates with on the new single "Who You Love."
