A-list couple Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are great at tuning out any messy gossip concerning their marriage, but for their young daughters, Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, 7, it can be hard to read about their parents’ split rumors in magazines.

“When you have kids it changes it because that’s really hurtful to kids,” Keith, 50, recently explained on The Kyle and Jackie O radio show. “They don’t quite understand, and they go, ‘Why are they saying that?’ and you go, ‘Because it sells. It sells magazines. It’s the only reason they’re doing it.’ That part of it is a bit rough.”

On the radio show, the country music star also remembered a time when he and his 51-year-old wife were having a great time together in Colorado but reporters ended up telling a completely different story about their trip to the Rocky Mountains.

“I probably find it a bit more absurd when you see a picture of Nic and I in Telluride where I was just with her and at the same time you read something, like, that right next to it, and you go, ‘Well what a bunch of w–kers,'” he said about the fake news.

In reality, Keith and Nicole are so in love that he hates being away from his wife for too long. “I just don’t want to be away from her for two weeks or [even] a week,” he previously said during a radio interview. “We try and schedule pretty much everything so that we’re not away from each other for more than a hand full of days.” So romantic!
