Lady Gaga's performance at the Oscars about sexual assault was the most emotional moment of the evening, and caused singer Kesha to thank the star publicly for addressing the issue on such a large platform.
The "Tik Tok" hitmaker took to Twitter following the presentation of the Oscar-nominated song, "Til It Happens To You," to express her gratitude to both Gaga and Vice President Joe Biden, who introduced the performance.

"Thank u @ladygaga and VP @JoeBiden for bringing attention to sexual assault at the Oscars. It hit very close to my heart for obvious reasons," Kesha tweeted to her 3.8 million followers Sunday night.

The 28-year-old has been in the headlines after accusing music producer Dr. Luke of rape. Following a judge's decision to deny her request to terminate her contract with Sony, many celebs, including Adele, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato, have supported the singer.

Lady Gaga also made it clear before taking the Oscar stage that Kesha was her inspiration, tweeting, ".@kesharose I'll be thinking of u 2nite. This is not over we'll stand by u until you are free to live a HAPPY life. Everyone deserves that."
The showstopper received a standing ovation from the A-list crowd inside the Dolby Theatre and featured 50 survivors of sexual abuse on stage.
