It’s clear the late attorney left a serious impact on Kim — which she also made clear when she wrote an open letter for TIME regarding the Armenian genocide back in 2016. “When we grew up, all my father did was talk about our heritage,” the reality star shared. “It was such a big part of our life: We’d eat Armenian food, we would listen to stories — my dad was really outspoken about our history. Had they not escaped, we wouldn’t be here.” She also took a trip to Armenia in 2015 with some family members — where she paid tribute to the victims at the Dzidzernagapert Armenian Genocide monument’s eternal flame.

Rob was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in July of that year and passed away two months later. Rob rose to fame when he defended his pal, O.J. Simpson, as his attorney during his infamous 1994 murder trial. Kim has always let fans in on their close father-daughter relationship, and he frequently makes appearances in photos and videos on her and her siblings’ social media accounts. He was married to Kris Jenner from 1978-1991 and had two more wives after her — Jan Ashley from 1998 until 1999 and Ellen Pierson in 2003. He and Kris are also parents to Kourtney, Khloé, and Rob Kardashian.
