You want to know why Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard's relationship works?! Two words: couples therapy.
The duo recently revealed they've been seeing a counselor since the beginning of their relationship in 2007. "You do better in the gym with a trainer; you don't figure out how to cook without reading a recipe. Therapy is not something to be embarrassed about," Kristen told 'Good Housekeeping.'

Dax added, "There's such a negative connotation [with therapy]. In my previous relationship, we went to couples' therapy at the end, and that's often too late. You can't go after nine years and start figuring out what patterns you're in."
The pair, whom the actress describes as "the Paula Abdul video 'Opposites Attract' personified," knew that if they were going to make their relationship work, they needed to figure out how to "exist peacefully" with one another.

"I thought I had this life thing down pat when I met Dax," Kristen told 'Good Housekeeping.' "I didn't realize that I needed a much bigger toolbox to have confrontations and disagreements with people."
Now, eight years and two kids later, the couple are happier than ever. Talk about a Hollywood success story!
