The Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge has been a huge Internet trend for some time now. It consists of taking a small glass — something like a shot glass — and placing it over your lips. You then suck the air out of the glass creating a vacuum seal over your lips and keep the glass there for three to five minutes. This is, of course, wildly unsafe and you definitely should not do it. And to prove it, watch the video below to see some of the best (well worst) Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge fails!
Kylie doesn’t get her famous pout from a shot glass, of course. Back in 2015, she finally admitted to getting lip fillers after months and months of denying the allegations. It was on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that the then 17-year-old came clean about getting her pout enhanced. “I have temporary lip fillers,” she said. “It’s just an insecurity of mine and it’s what I wanted to do. Everyone always picks us apart. I want to admit to the lips, but people are so quick to judge me on everything, so I might have tiptoed around the truth, but I didn’t lie.”
But since Kylie is now pregnant with her first child, she’s going to have to hold off on the injections! A plastic surgeon told In Touch that if Ky decides to continue the plumping while pregnant, there could be some adverse reactions.
“While theoretically, lip fillers like Juvederm are completely natural and should not cause a problem, there have never been any studies done to look for any problems,” Dr. Andrew Miller told the outlet. “Therefore, most practitioners avoid these types of procedures when the patient is pregnant — you just wouldn’t want to take any kind of risk.” Maybe you can try shot glasses, Ky?
