The crowd cheered loudly when Lady Gaga took the stage at the Gay Pride Parade Kick Off Rally in NYC on Friday night and gave a touching speech.
Appearing two days after the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, which defined marriage as only between a man and a woman, the singer became tearful as she held a rainbow flag in her hand and said, "To stand here equal with you tonight, it's been a dream of mine."

In her first public appearance since she was sidelined by hip surgery in February, the singer gave a heartfelt speech to her loyal LGBT fans and friends "who always said to me, 'I knew Lady Gaga when'… Now I get to say, 'I knew you when.' Now I get to say when you suffered, when you felt unequal, when you felt there was nothing to look forward to. I knew you then and I knew you when, but I really know you know."
After her emotional speech, she launched into an amazing acapella rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner." Check it out below!
