Life & Style has learned that the pop superstar is fuming about plans for a movie about her life. "She's furious," a friend of the singer tells the new issue of Life & Style, on newsstands now. "She's cringing at the thought of her life being exposed on television."
The biopic's producers are now searching for the perfect lead for Fame Monster: The Lady Gaga Story (reportedly being written by Norman Snider). "They want a total unknown," says the insider.
Lady Gaga has never shied away from publicity, so what's the problem with the film? "Gaga doesn't want it getting out because it will portray her as insecure and needy," explains the friend, adding that the star "wants to be seen as powerful and strong."
Lifetime originally bought the movie rights, which are now being shopped elsewhere.
Gaga's personal life recently made headlines when her ex Luc Carl exposed moments from their relationship in his new memoir, The Drunk Diet: How I Lost 40 Pounds...Wasted, obtained exclusively by Life & Style.
"The breakup with my girlfriend was my rock bottom," Luc explains in the book. "It took me about a week to realize she was right. I was f--king miserable, and it wasn't her fault. It was my fault for being a drunk a--hole. I would have left me, too."
