On Wednesday, Lamar flew from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Los Angeles, and his clothing sent a silent message of his allegiance to the Lakers, who'd traded him to the Dallas Mavericks in December.
"He took his jacket off and he was wearing a predominantly purple shirt with gold words in the shape of the Larry O'Brien trophy [which is presented to the NBA champions each year]," fellow passenger Clay Wilkinson tells Life & Style. "The shirt is from his Rich Soil fashion line. Even though it's not a true Lakers championship T-shirt, it still sends a pretty clear message."
On April 9, the Mavericks announced they would be parting ways with Lamar and listed him as inactive for the remainder of the season, following a contentious four months with the team. He will most likely be traded at the end of the season and has left Dallas for good. Despite the bad blood in Dallas, passengers and airport employees showed no animosity.
"I was behind him and the security guard said to me, 'Did you know who that was? That was Lamar Odom! He's 6'10!'" says Clay, who also saw Lamar sign an autograph for a passenger's grandson.
Lamar, who was proudly sporting one of the two NBA championship rings he earned while playing for the Lakers, sat in first class on the America Airlines flight to LAX, carrying only a black Louis Vuitton bag and keeping mostly to himself.
"His demeanor overall was very unemotional," Clay says. "He had headphones on most of the time. He seemed pleasant and fine and was minding his own business. He didn't seem dejected or overly happy either."
We're sure Lamar's wife, Khloé Kardashian, is happy to have her man back in LA!
