Several of the songs on the album, including "Cannonball," were written or co-written by Australian singer-songwriter Sia, whose song "Breathe Me" was chosen to accompany the iconic final scene of the HBO show Six Feet Under.

Although Lea and her team went with a poppy song for the first single, don't expect LOUDER! to just be party music. The Glee star revealed that one track, "You're Mine," was written about her boyfriend and co-star, Cory Monteith, who died tragically of a drug and alcohol overdose over the summer.
A special Glee episode, "The Quarterback," killed off Cory's character Finn and had different characters reacting to his loss. In the episode, Lea broke hearts when she sang a beautiful cover of Bob Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love."
