It was an emotional night for Lea Michele. At the Teen Choice Awards in LA tonight, the Glee actress took the stage to accept her win for Choice TV Actress: Comedy. And when she went to say her thanks, she dedicated the award to her late boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith.“Thank you guys. Thank you. I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out there how much your love and support has meant to me over these very past few difficult weeks,” said Lea, who looked gorgeous in a pink and white sleeveless ensemble.
It was her first public appearance since the actor passed away."Not that I had any doubt before, but you guys are most certainly the greatest fans in the world and I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory,” the teary-eyed beauty added. “For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love we’re going to get through this together. He was very special to me and also to the world. We were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile, and his beautiful beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of our hearts and that’s where he will stay forever. So thank you guys so much. Thank you.”
The Glee cast hit the stage to accept their win for Choice TV Show: Comedy and also dedicated the award to Cory.
“We just wanted to say that although we lost someone that we really loved and that all of you guys loved too, we are very fortunate to come back to a show where we feel the love of family,” Amber Riley said during the speech. “Cory was like a brother to us, like a dad. He was always ready to sign an autograph or take a picture with a fan. He loved you Gleeks and he loved his fans.”
Since the 31-year-old was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver on July 13, Lea, 26, has maintained a relatively low-profile. She has, however, been thanking fans for all their love and support on Twitter.
