The end result? To begin the fifth season with two tribute episodes dedicated to The Beatles that were written last May. The third episode of the season, which has not been written yet, will focus on the death of Cory's character, Finn Hudson.
And it was with Lea's approval.
"Lea blessed every decision," adds Ryan. "I told her even I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to write about the death of someone I love. She wanted people to be together. She and Cory were the young leads of that show, the A story. Lea has been a leader all through this difficult process.”
Ryan also revealed that the actress has been so strong during this hard time.
"It has been a very difficult rollercoaster ride, and all through that, and through the last week, Lea has been the most brave and courageous person I've ever met," he shared. "She has dealt with an impossible situation with more humanity than you could ever hope for."
