Speaking with Life & Style, Cavan opens up about his former girlfriend and the backlash she's received on the hit ABC reality competition.
"Unlike what you see on the show, she's actually a nice girl, and I still keep in touch with Courtney and her family," Cavan tells Life & Style. "We dated, and after it ended she went on The Bachelor," he explains. "Life happens; people fall in love and people break up."
The two met and fell in love while Courtney, 28, was modeling for one of the fashion lines Cavan, a photographer, shoots for. And now the 36-year-old Californian believes Courtney is doing everything in her power to get the final rose.
"She's obviously doing everything she can to win, seeing that it is a reality dating competition," he adds.
And in it to win it, she is. After Monday night's episode, the brunette beauty is one of the final three still in the running to win Ben Flajnik's heart.
Aside from Cavan, Life & Style has previously revealed that Courtney has also been linked to several Hollywood bigwigs, including agent Jim Toth, before he became Reese Witherspoon's husband, Entourage's Adrian Grenier and former Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe.
