‘Tis the season to be jolly—and if you’re LL Cool J, philanthropic, too!

The rapper will join forces with World Star Hip Hop Founder/CEO Lee 'Q' O’Denat this Saturday, Dec. 13, for the second annual World Star Skid Row Christmas Giveaway in Los Angeles.

The giveaway is made possible by the Worldstar Foundation, the charitable sector of the popular urban entertainment website WorldStarHipHop.com.

The formerly homeless Q spearheaded the event last year in an effort to brighten the spirits of residents living in the Los Angeles Skid Row district during the holiday season.

This year the charity event continues, and over 1,000 care packages will be wrapped, sealed and handed out to Skid Row residents on Saturday.

“We were able to help hundreds of people living in the Skid Row area last year and we are expanding the program this year,” Q said. “I’m well aware personally that the very words Skid Row imply sadness and hopelessness, but it’s our hope that our program can bring a bit of joy to people in this area.”

The Christmas Giveaway will include food, fleece blankets, personal items such as scarves and gloves, dental packs, hand-warmers and other necessities. Free haircuts by barbers of Los Angeles Barber College and over 250 pairs of sneakers provided by RIF LA will be handed out.

Saturday’s event will start at 8 a.m. PT at the Rotary House Homeless Shelter, 543 S. Crocker St., Los Angeles. Q will lead the event, with a special appearance by LL Cool J from 1-2 p.m. PT.
