Things are not looking good for Maquel Cooper. After appearing on Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s season of The Bachelor, viewers found “racist” photos of the blonde beauty seemingly mocking Mexican people. Now, the 23-year-old is being accused of leaving stereotypical comments as well.

In a screenshot shared on reddit, Maquel was caught writing the Asian slur “c—k” alongside a photo of her friends posing in traditional Japanese garb. As expected, fans were not impressed with the aspiring photographer and lashed out on the discussion platform. “I know some people wanted to give her the benefit of doubt with the first thread, but there is literally no excuse for this s–t,” one redditor wrote before another added, “I don’t see how she can defend this at all and I wouldn’t be surprised if the producers exploited it like hell just to rile up the community because remember…THEY ARE EVIL!”

After the controversial photo of Maquel in brown-face surfaced, she quickly deleted the photo and issued an apology. “Five years ago, I made a regretful choice for a costume. It came at a time when I was unenlightened and uninformed. I apologize to anybody who was offended by my choices,” she told TV Guide. “I am sorry for what I did and take full responsibility for my mistake.”

Most fans of the reality dating competition were not buying it and compared her to Lee Garrett from the last season of The Bachelorette. However, some of the blame was also directed at Bachelor producers, who are known for picking contestants with unfavorable backgrounds. “Honestly shame on ABC for continually casting racists on #TheBachelor and #TheBachelorette. Maquel is no better than Lee,” one fan tweeted.

While this might be proof Maquel will not be walking away with the final rose — if you can’t wait until the finale to see who Arie picks, we have spoilers here — there is someone who wants the reality star romantically: her ex-husband Josh Munday. “One of my mistakes was letting her go,” Josh told Life & Style. “If the option ever became available [to get back together], I would not be opposed to that.” Sigh, good luck Josh.
