Maria Menounos has worked hard to maintain her super-slim figure and killer abs she sports today — and “dieting” is not part of her ab-tastic regimen!
In the new issue of Life & Style — on stands now — the Extra host and author of The Everygirl’s Guide to Diet and Fitness, admits that after trying nearly every diet fad, from grapefruit diets to coffee fasts, she has given up on the term!
“I now don’t even say the word ‘diet.’ It sets you up for failure,” Maria tells Life & Style, explaining that she successfully melted off 40 unwanted pounds back in 2000 after graduating from college.
To prevent it from piling back on, she trims her tummy by eating only one bad carb a day and walking at least 10,000 steps. “I eat clean 75 percent of the time.”

Maria suggests keeping a food log of everything you eat for a week and pinpointing your trouble spot, such as sugar and carbs.
“Slowly cut back on that area,” Maria explains to the Life & Style. “It was carbs for me, but I didn’t totally give up pizza! I just ate less of it.”
