To keep her body camera-ready for her daily TV gig on Extra, host Maria Menounos must diet like crazy, right? Not exactly!
The bombshell tells Life & Style her thoughts on dieting and about the biggest health trend sweeping Hollywood. “Diets are confining,” Maria tells Life & Style. “I don’t count calories. I just try to eat as many fruits and vegetables as I can, stuff from the ground.”
What else is the star saying about diets? They don’t work! “The secret is looking at it as a health thing and not a skinny thing.”
Maria is not the only one saying no to fad diets; A-listers Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba and Hilary Duff are all loading up on clean produce that’s tasty and trimming. Maria told the magazine, on newsstands now, that she overcame her struggles with weight in college by switching to a farm-fresh diet of “fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy and little meat.” The switch helped her drop 40 pounds! She also spoke to the mag about her relaxed exercise mantra. “I do work out. But it’s random. I might go to the gym twice a week and then I won’t see it for another couple months.” For more, pick up this week’s issue of Life & Style, on newsstands now.
