"Matthew will not be attending as he is in London in rehearsals for his play, The End of Longing, which begins previews on Feb. 2 at the Playhouse Theatre. NBC executives were aware of this prior to their TCA announcement yesterday," his rep said in a statement.

But wait, there's a silver lining... kind of.
"Matthew may tape something for the tribute," she added. "In other words, this is not the reunion people have been hoping for."

Well, that's just disappointing! NBC previously made the announcement that the cast of the beloved sitcom will be reuniting for a two-hour special on Sunday, Feb. 21 honoring director James Burrow – though they did add that they weren't sure everyone could make it in person.

Unfortunately, it's been over 11 years since fans have seen the core cast of Friends all together in one place – and according to Lisa Kudrow, that's how long it's been for them, too.
“The six of us can’t even meet for dinner. We’re trying, but we don’t all live in the same state," she told Vulture. "We don’t have the same work schedule anymore."
