Melissa McCarthy’s not letting her weight dictate her life.
Though many stars in Hollywood tend to obsess over their body image, the Emmy-award winning mom is not one of them.
“Sometimes I wish I were just magically a size six and I never had to give [my weight] a single thought,” the Bridesmaids star says in the latest issue of Good Housekeeping. “But I am weirdly healthy, so I don’t beat myself up about it — it wouldn’t help, and I don’t want to pass that on to my girls.”
The 42-year-old, who has two daughters Vivian, 5, and Georgette, 2, with actor hubby Ben Falcone, says most women will never be completely happy with their presence.
“Even when someone gets to looking like she should be so proud of herself, instead she’s like, ‘I could be another three pounds less; I could be a little taller and have bigger lips.’ Where does it end?” the star, who’s currently designing a plus-sized clothing line for women, questions.
“You just have to say, ‘It’s pretty damn good. I am right here at the moment and I’m OK with it. I’ve got other things to think about,’” she adds.
Melissa has been busy shooting the new comedy Identity Thief alongside Jason Bateman. The flick, which is set to hit theaters in February, is centered on her character who steals the identity of a man, played by Jason. It also stars Amanda Peet, Eric Stonestreet and Melissa’s hubby, Ben.
With her blazing career and happy family, we don’t think this lady has much to worry about at all.
