Michael Jackson’s Son Prince Reveals Why He and His Siblings Had to Wear Masks in Public

It’s been over seven years since Michael Jackson died, and his son, Prince Jackson, is speaking out in a rare interview about the lessons he learned from the mega pop star.

As fans of the “Thriller” singer know, he often made his three children, including daughter Paris, now 18, and son Blanket, now 14, wear masks while they were out in public, which Prince explains was a way of protecting them.

“My dad spoke to me like an adult. He told us the reason for the masks was he wanted us to have our own life without him,” the 19-year-old told the Los Angeles Times — revealing that they could often go out unrecognized without their father because no one knew what they looked like.

“I don’t think I ever thought about if other kids lived like that when I was younger,” he continued. “But once I knew who he was, I realized it wasn’t normal… I remember being in Disneyland and I went to the window and there were all these fans waving and taking pictures of me.”

The teen, who wants to become a music producer, also talked about the sexual abuse allegations against his father.
