Can you imagine taking Miley Cyrus to prom? Well, Matt Peterson can't either because the "Wrecking Ball" singer turned him down four years ago when he asked her to his high school dance. However, she did end up inviting him to her concert in Arizona and brought him on stage so they could share a slow dance together while she romantically serenaded him. Looking back on the experience, Matt knows he'll never forget it.

The Broadcast journalism major tweeted about the whole thing yesterday — one month after the four-year anniversary — and said, "It’s so fun peaking in high school because it literally never goes away! @mileycyrus @Cosmopolitan #mileyprom never 4get."

In 2014, when Miley first caught wind of his promposal, she gently tweeted her decline and wrote, "Dear Matt Peterson, I don't think I'll be able to make it to prom BUT why don't you come to my AZ show & hang w me? Don't forget a corsage?." She wasn't kidding, either. Matt not only went to the concert with his corsage in tow, but they were also able to hang out — in front of the entire audience!

Following this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Matt gave Miley a super sweet shout out on his YouTube page that is still there today. "I will never be able to thank Miley enough for treating me so amazing that night," he said. "She is truly the most real artist in the game, and I am forever grateful. She gave me the best night of my life."

Matt continued, "I feel so bad for my poor wife one day because I don't even think my wedding could top the whole #MileyProm experience. Thanks to everyone who watched the original Miley Prom. Can't believe almost two million of you saw me naked, that's the coolest and strangest thing in the world I will be able to put on my resume." And while Miley has yet to acknowledge the anniversary, Matt can't stop, won't stop talking about it.
