In a series of photos released by fashion house Marc Jacobs, Miley Cyrus formally poses for the brand—gasp, without sticking out her tongue!
Instead, the 21-year-old singer gave her new signature look—pouting—for photographer David Sims.
Set in a deserted beach, Cyrus is surrounded by zombie-like models for the shoot. And she easily blends in with the rest even though her pixie-cut hair draws attention.
“We wanted this beach with the girls kind of sulky and broody, and we thought it would be cool if it was Miley with what could be two friends, feeling distant and quite dark,” designer Marc Jacobs shared about the campaign.
“We all just love her and her entire being, her energy, her talent, her intelligence, everything. There's nothing I don't like about her. She is just genuine and very natural.”
It was announced back in January the We Can’t Stop singer would be the new face of the campaign following the footsteps of Dakota Fanning and Victoria Beckham.
Sims was commissioned to capture Miley for this particular campaign after Jacobs’ longstanding photographer Juergen Teller refused to shoot the singer.
