Just days after Naya Rivera was arrested for domestic battery following an alleged incident involving her husband Ryan Dorsey, the father-of-one spoke out about the ordeal on Twitter. “This is a difficult time for everyone in the family especially for Naya and I," he said. "This isn’t some reality show, this is our life, and I ask that everyone especially ‘the media’ please respect our privacy and treat us/this situation how you would want a loved one to be treated. Perhaps with kindness, respect, without judgment, and as negative a situation this is, with positivity and love. Thanks. -RD”

Ryan can be heard saying in a 911 call, which was obtained by TMZ, that Naya was acting "out of control" after drinking heavily. “I just need a police officer. My wife’s out of control,” he says in the recording, adding that she was "getting physical."

This statement comes shortly after Naya's ex-fiancé Big Sean seemingly threw shade at the Gleealum by tweeting, “I told you so,” after her arrest. The duo began dating in the spring of 2013, and announced their plans to tie the knot just a few months later. However, their romance came crumbling down in April 2014 when the chart-topping MC — who is currently dating Jhené Aiko — broke off their engagement without warning.

As previously reported, Naya was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 25, on domestic battery charges after she allegedly got into a physical altercation with her husband of three years in West Virginia. Ryan accused his wife of hitting him and causing injury to his head and bottom lip. He also reportedly obtained video footage of Naya's alleged attack, which he handed over to police. Her bond was set at $1,000 and she was later released. Her father-in-law picked her up from the courthouse.

Ryan and Naya's relationship has been somewhat tumultuous from the start. The couple first started dating in 2010, but they split up so Naya could focus on her career. They tied the knot in July 2014 just three months after her breakup from Big Sean. The following year, they welcomed their first child together, but Naya filed for divorce from Ryan in November 2016. They had decided to call off the divorce just last month.
