NBA player Russell Westbrook received a brand new Kia after being named the MVP of the 2015 All-Star Game. But the Oklahoma City Thunder star had no plans to actually keep the car for himself.
On Monday, Westbrook surprised a single mom named Kerstin Gonzalez with the stylish set of wheels.

According to the Thunder, Gonzalez receives assistance from Oklahoma City social services organization, Sunbeam Family Services. The condition of her current car is so bad that she's been struggling to attend her college classes and take her sons, ages four and six, to their various activities.
When Westbrook first told her about the car, she admits that she thought it was "a prank."
“[But] when he showed me the keys, I was like ‘this is real.’ That’s when I started to cry because it’s been such a hard time,” Gonzalez said in a Thunder blog post.

Westbrook, who runs his own foundation, said he chose to give the Kia to Gonzalez to honor "all the hard work" she's done "to keep her family together."
