When The Real Housewives of Atlanta premiered in 2008, viewers were introduced to BFFs NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak. The women were the early favorites on the Bravo reality series, but their friendship was, unfortunately, short-lived. By the end of Season 1, NeNe, 49, and Kim, 39, were involved in the first of many feuds that continue to this day.

"We have a long history,” Kim told Us Weekly recently. “So as mad as she may make me, and vice versa, at the end of the day we still have a pretty cool foundation that started 15 years ago, long before television.” So will their friendship last beyond this latest confrontation? Let's take a walk down memory lane…

NeNe Leaks and Kim Zolciak feud — Part I

Their first major (televised) feud came during Season 1 of the reality show when Kim started a friendship with co-star Sheree Whitfield and continued when NeNe slammed Kim's budding music career. In the second season, their feud only intensified after Kim refused to have NeNe on her song, "Tardy for the Party." From there, NeNe accused Kim of sleeping with married men (or should we say, not closing her legs to married men) — and wrote some pretty mean things about Kim, who at the time was dating Big Poppa, in her book. "Kim wouldn't know how to make a dime if you slapped her with a bucket of change," she wrote. "Every dollar that chick has is somebody else's husband's money." Kim goes on to accuse NeNe of cheating on her husband and being jealous of her music career.

Fast forward to Season 5, and the "frenemies" are able to hug it on the reunion episode but still remained estranged. "I would never say never, but I just think that we're both in two different places in our lives," NeNe told host Andy Cohen of their friendship. " Kim agreed, adding, "We've been through a lot. I've known [NeNe] for a very long time… it's been a great ride. I wouldn't have met my husband, I wouldn't have my two sons, I wouldn't have half the things and the excitement that I live today. There's always a level of respect between NeNe and I, no matter what is going on… we make each other madder than anybody else but then on the flip side of the coin, I think if anybody is genuinely happy for me, it would be NeNe."

NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak feud — Part II

After Season 5, Kim left RHOA to pursue her own reality show but fans were in for a treat when Bravo announced her return to the series. NeNe is also making a comeback for Season 10, but even before the premiere, their fragile friendship has already imploded. After Kim's daughter Brielle Biermann posted a video of NeNe's "roast-infested" home on Snapchat, NeNe lashed out at the mother-daughter duo.

“We don’t have roaches! If you found 1, u brought it with u or it fell outta yo funky p—y! Please know I will get You all the way together when you start f–king wit me and mine," NeNe wrote. “Go somewhere and let the air outta those fake lips, fake titties and fake ass because you will never be @kylejenner… Yo trashy mama should have taught you better! My home is Brand New but you guys were so jealous of it, you couldn’t even give a compliment.”

She continued, “You had to stoop so low and be so disgusting #racisttrash #jealous #KKK #thirsty you better run yo ass back to a child’s place #youwannaactgrown?” Kim quickly came to her daughter's defense, claiming she didn't intentionally share the video. "Brielle went to the bathroom and saw several bugs and had sent ME the video on snap and NO ONE ELSE!!! We ARE filming a show, remember that and Nene released this video herself," she explained. "No one has EVER seen this video but RHOA! Nobody would have ever seen this video! Nene has said and done some things that are absolutely disgusting, however, I will take the high road as you will see it on the show soon enough, but you WILL NOT make it seem as though my daughter did ANYTHING wrong!"

Today, there are rumors that NeNe is going to be fired from RHOA over her latest antics, but a source has confirmed to Life & Style that that is not the case.

Are NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak still friends?

While it clearly depends on the season, it appears that NeNe and Kim are currently not friends. “At this point, I almost feel sad for you @neneleakes I had hoped for many yrs you would have seen the bigger picture but it’s evident you haven’t, I will continue to pray for you," Kim added. NeNe for her part continued to slam Kim, calling her "trash" and a liar. We guess we'll have to tune into RHOA to get all the details.
