Each year, the most glamorous A-listers walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, and they're always dressed to the nines.
But did you know they're allegedly required to be dressed that way? Yeah. Get this ... a recent report revealed that all women at the festival must be wearing high heels. If you're donning a pair of flats then you can walk your casual feet right on outta there.
And that's even if you have a medical condition! An older woman was reportedly rejected entrance to the world premiere of Cate Blanchett's new film Carol because she didn't have the appropriate footwear.

While it's clear most stars would end up wearing heels anyway (when was the last time you saw Kim Kardashian hit a red carpet without a pair of stilettos?), being told what they should wear, or shouldn't wear, is what's rubbing many people the wrong way.
Actress Emily Blunt was asked about the "rule" during a press junket for her film, Sicaro.
“Everyone should wear flats to be honest. We shouldn’t be wearing high heels anyways,” she told ScreenDaily.com. “That’s my point of view. I just prefer wearing Converse sneakers.”
Although a spokesperson for Cannes admits, “Rules have not changed throughout the years (tuxedo, formal dress for gala screenings) and there is no specific mention about the height of the women’s heels as well as for men’s."
