When six-year-old Leland Shoemake succumbed to an amoebic infection in his brain on Sept. 25, his parents were understandably devastated. But what they found when they got home from the hospital left them even more speechless.
According to Fox 59, Tim and Amber Shoemake were stunned to find a note from Leland that read, "Stil [sic] with you. Thank you Mom and Dad. Love."

This is Amber. This will be my only post on here for awhile. I was over protective of Leland and tried my best to keep...
"When Tim and I came home for the first time to get him clothes to be buried in, this is the note we found from him on the table in the living room," Amber wrote on Facebook. "We have no idea when he wrote it but you can tell he was always a special child."
WSB-TV 2 reports that Leland had spent the past two weeks at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta fighting the infection, where doctors were unable to figure out what caused it.

"He was taken from us too soon," Amber continued in her post. "He could have done great things in this world ...We will love you forever, Leland. Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite!"
Our thoughts are with the Shoemake family as they continue to grieve this tremendous loss.
