Talk about terrible timing! Paris Jackson fired off a tweet on Nov. 5 that left a lot of people with a bad taste in their mouths, especially since it came right after the horrific shooting that left 26 people dead in a church in Sutherland Springs, TX. "Why the f--k do people keep dying," she demanded. However, Michael Jackson's daughter actually hadn't heard about the mass shooting when she tweeted it.
"Whoa just now hearing about Texas, and realized how insensitive to the families my last tweet must seem," she explained, referring to her original question. "My heart is with everyone affected and in pain during this tragic time."
The saddest part is perhaps that Paris was actually referring to a more personal loss with her original tweet. "To clarify, that was about a friend," she wrote. Poor thing! We can't help but respect her for being so sensitive to the feelings of others, even when many fans supported her first tweet and responded with their own calls for more gun control.
When one of her fans said "I'm real tired of telling you I'm sorry for your loss this year honestly I'm ready to fight at this point. Idek who I wanna fight," Paris responded "same," clearly frustrated by the ongoing mass violence. It's easy to see why. In the span of just 35 days, 58 people were killed by a shooter in Las Vegas, eight were plowed over by a rental truck in NYC, and 26 people were murdered at the First Baptist Church. Two of those topped the list of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history. That's pretty horrifying.
