Rebecca Soteros, Paul Walker’s ex and mother of his daughter, Meadow, isn’t going down without a fight.
One week after the late actor’s mother, Cheryl, filed for custody of the 15-year-old, Rebecca has taken the teen from her grandmother’s house — where they both have been staying — and is taking Cheryl to court today to fight the petition.
The teenager had been living with her grandmother since August — three months before the Fast & Furious star’s death. Rebecca flew from Hawaii and moved in with them after the tragedy to help out.
Paul Walker’s Death Caused By Speed
But the relationship between her and Paul’s mother came crashing down when Cheryl petitioned for guardianship last week.
In court documents, Cheryl claimed Rebecca is an unfit mother who suffers from alcoholism. Meadow’s grandmother believes she’s not only doing what’s best for the young girl, but also fulfilling her son’s last wish. (Paul requested his parents seek custody if anything were to ever happen to him.)
Reports said Meadow, who will inherit her father’s multi-million dollar fortune, and her mother were “disgusted” by the move.
“This has been hard on everyone close to them. [Meadow and her mom] didn’t know,” an insider alleges.
“There have been discussions but no one told them they were going ahead with it. They first heard about it when they saw it on TMZ. They are very disgusted by this. It’s completely thoughtless and disrespectful.”
Despite having two DUIs under her belt, the source tells E! News it’s all been blown out of proportion.
“She doesn’t have a drinking problem or a serious drinking problem,” the source says. “From what I know, she has never once been incapable of not taking care of her children…”

TMZ reports Cheryl will go to court today in an attempt to win custody of Meadow – and even has evidence of Rebecca’s heavy drinking.
Family sources tell the outlet Rebecca will do everything in her power to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Paul died in a car accident with his friend Roger Rodas in Santa Clarita, Calif., on Nov. 30. Police confirmed this week the pair died from speeding — not drugs, alcohol or a mechanical malfunction.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s traffic collision experts determined the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, driven by Rodas, was going “between 80 and 93 miles per hour” at the time of the accident.
