Obama Beats Trump in "Most Admired Man of 2017" Poll and We're Patiently Awaiting the Twitter Rant

Well, this is awkward... Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama (who beat President Donald Trump) have retained their titles as the most admired people in America, according to the results of the annual Gallup poll. Hillary has now taken the crown 16 years in a row taking her total of wins up to 22, a record amount of times in Gallup history. Obama has now been named the most admired man 10 times, trailing only Dwight Eisenhower, who earned the distinction 12 times.

Hillary beat Michelle Obama by just two percent this year, and the other women to follow included Oprah Winfrey, Angela Merkel, Queen Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton, and Beyoncé. Not too bad for a woman who lost the presidential election.

“But the likelihood that she will continue to hold that honor in future years seems less certain, with her popularity at a nadir and the percentage naming her as most-admired the lowest in 15 years,” Gallup said. “She managed to win this year because she remains arguably more prominent than other contenders. However, retaining that stature may be more challenging in coming years with her political career likely over.”

In the men’s category, President Trump came second with three percent less of the votes than President Obama. Since the poll began in 1946, President Trump is one of only a handful of Presidents of America not to win the top accolade while in office. Other men recognized included Pope Francis, Bill Gates, and The Dalai Lama.

It's not entirely surprising that President Obama would beat out President Trump for the "Most Admired Man of 2017" honor. And the fact that Michelle Obama was named the second "Most Admired Woman of 2017" while Melania Trump was number eight on the list just reinforced the already known fact that the Trump family's approval rating from Americans is seriously low.... especially when compared to the Obama family.
