An 11-month-old police dog managed to put a smile on an elderly patient's face, and the moment brought tears to her nurse's eyes.

According to the Kingston Police Facebook page, Sergeant Tony Marshall visited Star & Garter residential care home to talk about crime prevention, and at the end of his talk he brought in five police dogs. Unfortunately, some residents weren't able to be there because of their conditions/abilities – so the sergeant brought around a special police dog for them to see.

One woman in particular, Muriel, is often very quiet and doesn't show many emotions – but upon seeing the dog, her face lit up. According to the Kingston Police, seeing Muriel smile made one of the nurses burst into tears because she was so moved by the moment.
“I was shocked to see Muriel’s reaction and I would like to thank the Star & Garter for having me, it was a great opportunity and something I will remember for the rest of my life," Sgt. Marshall said.
