Life & Style chatted with James Harris from Millionaire Listing LA — check out the interview below.
Q: What is different about this season on MLDLA?
A: This season they show more of the mechanics, complications, and the intricacies that go into making a deal. There will be more crazy open houses and crazier stories. You will see that my wife and I are expecting. It is a hard season and you will see how difficult it is to make it in this business and how really hard you have to work. But if you really work hard you can make it. This season is a bit emotional, David has some family issues, But I think it is a more personal season for both Josh Flagg, and Josh and Heather. You will definitely see more personal stuff with them.

Q: What do you learn by watching the show and being able to see what other agents are seeing and doing?
A: I think in this city, and in this industry, there are a lot of two-faced people who say one thing to your face, and another behind your back. Not straight forward. You know, David and I believe in keeping our side of the street clean, we are ethical, and others not so much.
Q: What are we missing that we are not seeing on the show?
A: People definitely play up to the camera. We all try to go about our business 100% and we all try to do the best that we can. I don’t like it when other people do not do as they should. But you can’t control other people. I can get emotional about that because David and I really try to keep our side of the street clean, again that is a term I like to use often. We remain ethical, and we do our very best.
Q: What are some tips for working with celebrities and Fortune 500 clients?
A: It is very important to remain classy, and sophisticated, work hard. You have to respect your client’s time, and respect their privacy. Always let them know that you are working hard for them. Client’s always have to be number one no matter what.

Q: What are some of the craziest things that you have seen in a home?
A: Well we have seen tanning rooms, 10,000 bottle wine room. We have had a house with a shower that fit 15 people. That was crazy. There was one house that had a car mounted onto the ceiling. People literally blow me away on a daily basis. Oh, a jellyfish room that was cool and you know, 4 pools and movie theaters.
Q: Have you seen anyone who took a home that you sold and really trash it?
A: I had a really beautiful $15 million home with period features and gorgeous views and the owner tore it down and built a new home! I don’t like seeing when something beautiful and historical gets torn down, It sucks.
Q: What can you tell me about yourself and David?
We are humble and true to who we are. We are always kind and polite, service oriented, and work really hard; our clients always come first.

Q: What have you learned from being on the show and in this business?
A: Just treat people the way that you want to be treated. Work hard. Be creative and smart and think outside the box. And really stay true to yourself. If you are a good person and have integrity, you will be successful. We are very grateful to be in this business and we are grateful to work with amazing people. We get to learn from extraordinary people and really, just the knowledge and experience you can get from others and to learn from them, that is more valuable than any paycheck.
