It looks like Queen Latifah has a new vision for her kingdom: a new addition! The 47-year-old actress — whose real name is Dana Elaine Owens — recently admitted that she’s not opposed to welcoming a child in the future.

“Maybe I’ll adopt,” she has shared with fans in the past. “There are a lot of kids that need love out there.”

Other notable celebrities who have chosen adoption include Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron, Viola Davis, and Mariska Hargitay. Even with her adoption plans in mind, don’t expect any baby or pre-adoption announcement to happen anytime soon — at least publicly. The lovable actress revealed that when it comes to expanding her family, it’s a private matter, one she’s not planning on sharing with the public until it’s done.

“You’ll know when you see me with the rugrat on my shoulder with the little backpack,” she tells Life & Style. “You’ll go, ‘Oh, she did it?!’ That’s kind of how it will happen.”

Perhaps it’s her role on the hit TV show on Fox Star that has her ruminating for a little tyke of her own. After all, Queen plays a motherly figure to three young girls searching for fame on the series. The series is currently gearing up for Season 2.

While the potential-mom-to-be is busy thinking about future parenthood, she sure has a lot of other things on her plate keeping her busy. Aside from leading a full life as a rapper and CoverGirl Queen cosmetics line spokesperson, she also recently wrapped the film Girls Trip. Before taking on a rugrat of her own, a GT sequel may actually be in store — or who knows, maybe the two “projects” could even coincide!
