Things got pretty heated on Tuesday’s episode of The View when co-host Raven-Symoné and guest host Candace Cameron-Bure, both former child stars on hit sitcoms, clashed over a recent incident involving a wedding cake.

The discussion centered around an Oregon bakery who refused to provide their services to a lesbian couple, and the women soon began arguing over whether it’s the company’s constitutional right or an example of discrimination based on sexual orientation.

“The Oregon law bars businesses from discriminating against sexual orientation, race, disability, age or religion,” Raven, who admitted last year that she was in a relationship with a woman, said.

“And to me, it’s the same exact thing that they did back in the day saying that black people couldn’t do certain things because it’s my [air quotes] religious belief.”

But Candace, a conservative Christian, was quick to fire back, stating, “I don’t think this is discrimination at all. This is about freedom of association. It’s about constitutional rights. It’s about First Amendment rights. We do have the right to still choose who we associate with.”

Needless to say, things got pretty tense up in the ABC studios, and Raven may or may not have given the Full House alum her best evil eye!

The conversation ended with Candace saying, “Here’s the thing that I really wish we could do as a society, as a culture, as a country, is to respect that we have opposing views.”
