The Best Blackout Fashion Moments on the 2018 Golden Globes Red Carpet

The 2018 Golden Globes have arrived — and all the stars are going black on the red carpet. The biggest names in Hollywood are wearing the dark hue in honor of the Times’s Up initiative, which aims to raise awareness for sexual harassment prevention.

Meryl Streep, Emma Stone, and Angelina Jolie are just some of the famous beauties who stepped out on the red carpet in black gowns to raise awareness. Before the big day, the news was revealed on The Morning Breath, a podcast hosted by sisters Jackie and Claudia Oshry. “All of the female actresses and attendees, or most of them at least, who are going to the Golden Globes, are standing in solidarity together in a form of protest. They are all going to be wearing black obviously to protest the injustices that have been taking place in Hollywood since forever,” Jackie shared.

Claudia jokingly continued, “I feel like they’re all just using this as an excuse to wear black because they want to wear black, but it’s, like, frowned upon.” Also stepping out looking fabulous in black are Kerry Washington, Margot Robbie, and Salma Hayek — who previously spoke out against Harvey Weinstein. “I don’t think he hated anything more than the word no,” the 51-year-old wrote in The New York Times. “No to letting him watch me take a shower. No to letting him give me a massage. No to letting a naked friend of his give me a massage. No to letting him give me oral sex. No to my getting naked with another woman. No, no, no, no, no…”

Men also joined forces with the women of Hollywood, and Justin Timberlake, Chris Hemsworth, and Nick Jonas also skipped the white dress shirt for the red carpet and opted for all-black ensembles. Overall, the message is clear at the Golden Globes. Keep scrolling below to see all the looks at the 2018 Golden Globes Awards!
