Life & Style has exclusively obtained court papers filed this summer in which Rehab Addict star Nicole Curtis’ mother, Joan Curtis, requested a personal protection order against her daughter, claiming she threatened her multiple times.

In the court papers, filed July 20 and Aug. 8, Joan claims Nicole “stole items” from her and sent texts “filled with rage, threats [and] violence.”

Joan, 57, also lists two other altercations — one in June 2016 and another in late July — alleging that Nicole threatened her on both occasions. She also states that in May 2016, an irate Nicole showed up at a Florida hospital and “threatened me in front of my dying mother…security was called twice.”

Joan requested a personal protection order (PPO) against her in Oakland County Circuit Court in Pontiac, Mich., on Aug. 24. At the hearing, witnesses were left stunned by a side of Nicole they’d never seen on TV. “Nicole was so angry, she looked like she was about to explode,” says a courtroom observer.

“I told her to leave me alone,” Joan said in court. “She doesn’t know how to talk. She only knows how to scream and demean me.”

The judge ultimately denied Joan’s request for a protection order, but urged the duo to stay away from each other.

It’s not the first time Nicole’s been in a nasty court battle. She and her ex Steve Cimini fought for custody of their son Ethan, 18, and she’s currently locked in another custody battle with ex-boyfriend Shane Maguire, 53, over their 16-month old toddler, Harper.
