Luckily for this reporter, her co-worker has a sense of humor, because we would NOT have been so kind if called fat on air!
Sam Rubin, a morning anchor at KTLA 5 in Los Angeles, was in the middle of a story about the time his wife asked, "So, when did you become the fat guy on that show?" when someone off-camera cut in.
"He's always been!" reporter Ginger Chan blurted from the station's traffic center, before realizing her mic was still on.

The live broadcast immediately cut to Chan's shocked and humiliated face, while Rubin laughed along with his colleagues at her slip-up.
He later addressed the issue on Facebook, calling the incident "a very honest; and very funny moment," and insisting, "I sincerely don't mind in the least that it was at my expense."
The station also responded, writing on their Facebook page, "Accidents happen, and that’s why our anchors are supposed to turn off their microphones when not on camera...Sorry, Sam Rubin. We think you look great!"
