The Identity of Ricky Martin’s Twins’ Mother Is a Mystery Fans Desperately Want to Crack
Puerto Rican singing sensation Ricky Martin is making headlines again! But, this time the "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer is getting attention for his personal life not his music career. The 46-year-old star recently appeared as a guest on Live With Kelly and Ryan to discuss his latest project, The Assassination of Gianni Versace where he plays Antonio D'Amico in the latest season of the American Crime Story anthology. On the show, Ricky also discussed his recent marriage to his longtime boyfriend, Jwan Yosef, and how his twin boys will be included in the official wedding celebration. Now, fans are wondering who is the mother of Ricky's kids?
The father-of-two is a dad to sons, Matteo and Valentino, who were born to a surrogate. It is still unknown whether the surrogate was the mother of the twins, or only carried them to term. Fans have speculated for years about the identity of the woman (or women) who helped Ricky become a father. The star opened up about what he called one of the hardest question his son asked him.
"'Dad, was I in your belly?’ and I told him, ‘you were in my heart and you are still in my heart’,” he revealed. “So I explained further, because I couldn’t just leave it at that: ‘There was a woman that I adore with all my heart that helped me bring you into this world. She lent me her belly so that you could come and when you were born she put you in my arms.’ And he said ‘ah, ok’ and he kept playing."
Although, the woman's identity is still a mystery there are some facts about her. She Knows reported that she was a 26-year-old surrogate who worked for an agency that pairs potential surrogates with hopeful parents-to-be. The source revealed that the singer's babies were the third time she had provided her service — and even her second set of twins!
"I saw the picture and I said: Who is this woman so angelic, so transparent,” he revealed in a past Vanity Fair issue, referring to his surrogate. “I would give my life for the woman who helped me bring my sons into this world.” How sweet!
