Robert Downey Jr. wants another shot with Sarah Jessica Parker — another shot at friendship, that is.
The "Iron Man" star admitted on Howard Stern's radio show that he'd love to get in touch with her while he's in her hometown New York.
He said: "I'll make a point of trying to see her while I'm here. I'd like to."
RDJ and SJP (seriously, why couldn't these guys have made it work?!) dated for seven years from 1984 to 1991 after meeting on set of the movie Firstborn. But the young love birds sadly split after the actor's notorious substance abuse problems became too difficult.
Now, 23 years since they split, he'd like for them to hang out - but don't worry, Matthew Broderick, there won't be any funny business. RDJ plans to contact the "Sex & the City" star's hubby first.
"I'll ask his permission," he said. "I just want to check in for a few minutes. I love Matthew Broderick."
Evidently so does Sarah Jessica, as the pair have now been married for 17 years, and have three children. Meanwhile, Rob's home life is equally as happy, having been married to producer Susan Levin since 2005. The pair are expecting a baby daughter in November. He also has a son, Indio, from his previous marriage to Deborah Falconer.
