If you’re a fan of Shark Tank, you’ve probably thought about what you’d say if you found yourself standing in front of that intimidating panel of business experts. But Rohan Oza, who appears as a “Guest Shark” this season, tells Life & Style exclusively that the behind-the-scenes atmosphere is a lot more laid-back than viewers might expect.

“It’s very funny because off camera everyone gets along great. There is a lot of joshing around, joking around, and teasing of one another. Everyone bonds very quickly,” he shares. “Within my first few hours of getting there, everyone approached me, I was the rookie, they hazed me, it was all in good fun. When you get in the tank, the gloves come off or in this case the mouth guards come off and the teeth come out. As they say, ‘all’s fair in love and war.’ So it’s love off the set and war on the set.”

As for his experience on the show, Rohan — who was dubbed “Hollywood’s Brandfather” by the Hollywood Reporter thanks to his ability to transform groundbreaking consumer products into household names — admits he’s having a blast. “I love Shark Tank because I think it is the most inspiring show in television because it taps into and fuels America’s entrepreneurial spirit,” he says. “As a nation, what has made America great is our creative and out of the box thinking in every field.”

He adds, “What I think Shark Tank does is that it allows an entrepreneur with a dream and an idea and a vision to come on the show, get funding, and live the American dream. From my perspective, I’m an immigrant [from Zambia] that moved to America and I’m living the American dream because I was able to partner with amazing founders, get the right funding, and we built amazing brands together. For me it is a way to pay it forward and do that with entrepreneurs of the future.”
