Freddie began his acting career at age 7. Following his success as Charlie Bucket in this film, he went on to such features as August Rush, The Spiderwick Chronicles, the BBC film Toast, Master Harold… and the Boys and The Art of Getting By. But he’s probably gained the most attention for playing evolving serial killer Norman Bates in A&E’s Bates Motel.

Deep Roy (Oompa Loopa)
There looked like hundreds of Oompa Loompa's working in Willy Wonka’s factory, but all of them were played by the stuntman. Some of his post-Charlie credits are Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the rebooted Star Trek films and HBO’s Eastbound & Down. The actor stands tall at 4’4”.

Johnny Depp (Willy Wonka)
Nobody’s got the time necessary to list all of Johnny’s post-Charlie credits, but he starred in three sequels to Pirates of the Caribbean (with a fourth coming in 2017), Public Enemy, Alice in Wonderland, The Rum Diary, Dark Shadows, The Lone Ranger, Black Mass and more on the way. Johnny’s relationship with long-time girlfriend Vanessa Paradis came to an end in 2012. The pair have two children, Lily-Rose Melody Depp and John “Jack” Christopher. Julia Walter (Veruca Salt)
Julia is a tough one to track down: Her role as Veruca was her first professional acting gig and it seems to have been her last. From all descriptions, it seems that she was an active acting student, taking weekly drama lessons at a part-time theatre school. All of that preparation seems to have paid off in that it landed her in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but all sources indicate that she never parlayed that success into additional roles.
