The author of Sex and the City got to see her star character Carrie Bradshaw come to life – twice!
Sarah Jessica Parker and AnnaSophia Robb star in the two TV versions of Candace Bushnell’s famous books, and the writer gushes to Life & Style at the New York Television Festival, “They’re both great actresses, and they’re both beautiful and intelligent.”
SJP played Carrie for two movies and six seasons of the HBO hit Sex and the City, but is passing the torch to AnnaSophia, who will play a teenage version of the fashionista in The CW’s prequel The Carrie Diaries.
“It’s a wonderful role for me, and I feel so honored to be able to play a young Carrie,” the 18-year-old says.
And did the former Carrie have any words of wisdom for the new Carrie?
“She sent me a really lovely note of encouragement,” the Soul Surfer star says about SJP, “just congratulating me, giving me her approval. It was very sweet of her, and I did not expect that at all.”
Looks like we'll just have to wait until January to see if AnnaSophia does Miss Bradshaw justice!
Will you watch The Carrie Diaries when it airs in January, or do you prefer the original seasons of Sex and the City?
