After surviving a horrifying shark attack in 2003, the last place you'd expect to see Bethany Hamilton would be near the ocean.
But despite losing her left arm in the attack and now being six months pregnant, the pro-surfer continues to hit the waves.
"Giving birth may be one of the most physical events a woman goes through, so being active and keeping muscles alive and ready is what I believe we need to do," she told 'Fit Bump 360,' adding she typically surfs for one to five hours each day.

But the 25-year-old knows how to listen to her body and realize when she needs to take it easy.
"At about five and a half months I really started to feel pregnant while surfing," she said.
"I would get up a little slower and just feel a bit off from my normal self. But I’m fully enjoying the ocean. I think it is important to rest when you need to and not overdo it."
Bethany has continued to be an inspiration for women everywhere — proving you can do anything you set your mind to, regardless of what you've been through. She frequently shares shots of her pregnant surfing adventures on Instagram with her followers.
"6 months and 3 to go," she captioned the adorable bikini baby bump photo above. "Loving the feeling of our lil guy moving inside of me. Being a mom is a new exciting adventure that I know will be wonderful & challenging. #bhbodyandsoul #pregnantandsurfing #MyBikini."
