While many stars love Photoshop for quick fixes, one model is fed up with the photo editing program — and she's calling out editors for using it on her.
Meaghan Kausman, a size 8 model from Australia, was shocked when she saw Photoshop had been used on her modeling campaign with swimwear company Fella Swim. So what did she do? She took to social media to call 'em out.
In the caption, she explains she thoroughly enjoyed doing the shoot with photographer Pip Summerville, but was appalled when she saw the final result.
"This morning [Aug. 15] I was extremely shocked to see that Fella Swim had uploaded a photoshopped version of Pip’s original photo to their Instagram page. They had drastically altered my body, thinning out my stomach and thighs in an attempt to box me in to the cultural ideal of beauty," she explains.
The blonde beauty then put the editors on blast for choosing to use Photoshop on her body, explaining to her followers that it's simply not OK to alter a woman's figure.
"Above is their version, below is the real version. My body is a size 8, not a size 4. That’s my body! I refuse to stand by and allow ANY company or person to perpetuate the belief that 'thinner is better,'" she continues.
"All women are beautiful, and we come in different shapes and sizes! This industry is crazy!!!! It is NOT OKAY to alter a woman’s body to make it look thinner. EVER!"
Meaghan is set to join her father, Dr. Rick Kausman, a respected doctor who promotes healthy body-image, on the Today show to discuss the situation.
