Is it just us or is Chicago P.D. not the same without Sophia Bush aka Detective Erin Lindsay? After news broke that the actress would not be returning for Season 5, fans were definitely confused about her decision to leave the popular TV series.

However, producer Dick Wolf recently opened up about the move. "She wanted to leave,” he said according to TV Line. However, he added that he didn't think “it will have any effect at all" on the show. While Sophia, 35, has not commented about leaving the NBC drama, she did open up about the inspiration behind her character to Life & Style.

The One Tree Hill alum revealed that Bruce Willis was the main influence in playing a detective — and shared her excitement of working alongside him on their upcoming film Acts of Violence. “The reason why I play a cop on TV is because I was obsessed with Die Hard,” she said, adding that the movie helped shape her career.

Sophia recalls meeting Bruce, 62, while working on their upcoming film Acts of Violence, “When he first walked in, I was like, ‘Holy s–t, that’s Bruce Willis! You were my idol, dude!’” She admits that she was starstruck, but made it her mission to treat Bruce like a regular guy. “I had to let that subside and let him just become a person, which is what any actor appreciates.”

She continued, "It was really fun to play his partner." Luckily for fans, her leaving the show opened the door for the return of Jon Seda, who plays Det. Antonio Dawson, and the promotion of Tracy Spiridakos’ Det. Hailey Upton.

Be sure to tune into Chicago P.D. Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. on NBC.
