When Courtney Vashaw was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, she immediately had the support of students and faculty at Profile Junior-Senior High School, where she is the principal.
But the 37-year-old was brought to tears when the senior class gave her a gift she never saw coming! After raising nearly $8,000 for their end-of-the-year trip, they decided to give it to Vashaw for her treatment.

“She’s very caring, very selfless, and we wanted to be selfless too," class treasurer Ian Baker told WMUR 9 of the principal. Class president Christopher Sirois added, "Every one of us has a connection with her, and she’s given so much to us that we just wanted to give back.”
"It is very hard for me to accept help," an emotional Vashaw told the students after their announcement. "And I have no idea what to say."
A Crowdrise campaign has since been started to give the seniors that class trip they so rightfully deserve.
