A video showing teens in Ohio getting pepper sprayed voluntarily has gone viral due to their violent reactions.

Students at Barberton High School participated in the activity as part of their criminal science technology class, and needless to say, it's raised a few eyebrows.

Those sprayed can be heard screaming in pain during the video, while individuals off camera (presumably their classmates) can be heard laughing. One boy said the pain "feels like a volcano shit in my eyes."

“Students had an opportunity to voluntarily participate in an activity in which they would be subjected to a small amount of pepper spray for a brief period of time," Barberton City Schools Superintendent Patricia Cleary told People magazine in a statement. "The activity was conducted by the class instructor, who is a former police chief, and an experienced professional."

She continued, “Added supervision was provided by the school’s resource officer. Students were required to have parental permission and consent in order to participate in the voluntary exercise. The intent of the training is to help the students gain an industry recognized credential in the law and public safety course curriculum that is offered by the Ohio Department of Education."

One of the students who participated, who goes by the name Karis Ann on YouTube, defended the clip and the school's decision to let them get pepper sprayed.

According to the Today Show, the students who participated received extra credit. We wonder if those teens would've changed their minds if they knew what was coming…
