You can now add "mediator" to Jay Z's long list of accomplishments!
The rapper is credited for smoothing over one of the biggest feuds in music history — and yes, we're referring to the one between Kanye West and Taylor Swift.

In the new issue of Vanity Fair, Taylor admits, "I became friends with Jay Z. And I think it was important, for Jay Z, for Kanye and I to get along."
For those who need a refresher, the tension between Yeezy and TSwift started at the 2009 VMAs. The 38-year-old stormed the stage during the singer's acceptance speech to argue that Beyoncé should have won the award for Best Female Video "of all time."

"I feel like I wasn’t ready to be friends with [West] until I felt like he had some sort of respect for me," the 25-year-old told the mag. "And he wasn’t ready to be friends with me until he had some sort of respect for me — so it was the same issue, and we both reached the same place at the same time."
Wow, how convenient!

Taylor adds, "Kanye and I both reached a place where he would say really nice things about my music and what I’ve accomplished and I could ask him how his kid [daughter North West] is doing."
